Common Guitarfish / Rhinobatos rhinobatos
It gets its name from its guitar-like body shape. It is a species endemic to the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean. Belonging to the Rhinobatidae family, these creatures are a transitional species between rays and sharks. They mostly live in shallow waters near the shore. They feed on other cartilaginous creatures, invertebrates, and fish found on the seabed. Due to trawling, the species is threatened with extinction.
